Overview:
Crimson Veil is an RPG Maker game focused around vampires and temptation. You play as Mila, a vampire hunter who harbors secret fantasies of being taken and turned into a vampire, but is conflicted with betraying her duty as a member of her guild, Noctorna. Join her fight against the forces of the night and protect humanity from the rising threat of the undead, or surrender and witness the myriad ways Mila falls to darkness and debauchery.

Save data is already included with the download, however during my testing I found that placing an older saves folder into either the www folder (Windows) or Resources folder (Mac) will carry over save data to the new version. If you would prefer to play with your own save data, you can do that. If not, four saves files are already included.

File 1 is the beginning of chapter 2. File 2 is right before the fight with Viviene. File 3 is at the end of chapter 2. File 4 is also the end of chapter 4, but with all previous side quests completed. Choose File 4 if you want to get straight into the new quests!

While the game is still in early development, I have a demo ready for you all to try right now! Length-wise, I would say it’s about as long as one of the shorter rpgs available here on VY right now. Give or take an hour or so if you want to see everything I would say. There are a total of 8 different bad endings to find as well, each one with unique art along with some endings containing multiple illustrations, all drawn by me.

The demo covers the first of four chapters of the story. While I have the main story outlined in my head, I would also like to include side quest scenarios as extra hunting contracts you can complete during the course of the adventure! I want these side quest scenarios to be suggested by the community, so please send me your ideas here. I don’t think I will get to all of them, but I will pick the suggestions that I like the best and will include you in the credits of the final version of the game! Just be sure to mention how you want to be credited.

An important reminder regarding save data:

With the release of version 3.1.1, It has been brought to my attention by many players that they keep getting a loading error at certain points when trying to play using previous save file. I had brought this issue up in earlier updates, but I absolutely need to stress that as this is a game in progress, save file compatibility issues WILL occur when you try and load up a save made in a previous version. That is especially true with this recent version since there were so many things I changed and added under the hood.

I understand that this is frustrating for many players. I know that it just doesn’t feel the same to have to use a save file that doesn’t belong to you just to see the new content. I do what I can to ease the process of starting from scratch by playing through the game myself and providing you all with checkpoints to view the new content. It is the least I can do for this annoying inconvenience. However, in order to grow this game and make it something even better, changes are inevitable.

This game is a work in progress and I want everyone who plays the game in it’s current form to know that going in. I have players who’ve told me that they have recorded over 20 hours (!!) in the game so far! To me, this is incredible to hear and I feel honored that there are those who enjoy my game so much to play it for so long. I just want all players to know this: Your saves are not guaranteed to work in future updates. This is how the game has always been, but with more new players discovering the game, I feel that I need to make this fact clear. I appreciate all of your support for the game, but please keep this statement in mind if you are a returning player.
